The basic setup
A browser dialer needs microphone permission, a stable internet connection, prepaid calling balance, and a destination number in international format. No desktop app should be required for the core outbound call.
Enter the full international number
Choose the destination, then enter the country code and the rest of the landline number. For example, a UK number starting 020 becomes +44 20 followed by the remaining digits. Check the complete number before calling, especially if you copied it from a contact saved in local format.
Check the cost before you dial
Compare the listed landline rate for your destination with the mobile rate, since they can differ. Add prepaid credit only after checking the rate and the number. Allow your browser to use the microphone and make a short test call before an important conversation.
What browser calling is good at
It is useful when you are travelling, working from a laptop, calling a business abroad, or avoiding roaming charges. You can check the destination rate first and keep the call separate from your mobile plan.
